| Tyrihans' logo

Tyrihans’ logo is a stylistic dragon set in either gold against a black background, or in magenta against an apricot background. The logo has been taken from our forefathers’ mythology. The dragon which curls around itself, biting its own tail, symbolises the constant renewal of humankind – the eternal rebirth or cycle. The company’s business idea is centred around this philosophy. We are inspired by the achievements of past generations and recreate their work for the man and woman of today and tomorrow. The logo was created by wood carver Inge Høivik from Balestrand in Western Norway, who served his apprenticeship under the well known wood carver Lars Kinsarvik. His extensive collection of carvings can be found for example at Kviknes Hotel in Balestrand.
The dragon style on which the logo is based, harks back to the romantic era of the late 1800s, which saw a revival of ancient Nordic ornaments, inspired by animal shapes often combined with Roman garlands. Tyrihans’ logo and name are registered trademarks and protected by international trade legislation.
The logo signifies Tyrihans’ slogan “When quality matters”.
